MZ had roseola today..... :(
His face had small red spots, we thought it might be the reaction of the medications he took for his fever and swollen throat, but the pd said it's roseola. The 1st symptom is having high fever (more thna 38.5C), then have diarrhoea, and finally the red spots/rashes come out and the fever subsides. Yes, all these happened to my poor baby! His temperature was below 37C yesterday all day long, so we thought he was ok! But this morning, all the spots and rashes appeared....
Nothing could be done, except feeding him the oral rehydration salts for 6 days (1 pack/day with 8oz of water), and moderate his temperature frequently. However, my boy is not a big fan of H2O! We have to force him to drink, or use spoon to feed him little by little, or use some "dirty tricks" ! hm....
On top of that, we're blessed that MZ was doing ok! I mean, he wasn't cranky much, wasn't crying at all or couldn't sleep nor eat, eveyrthing was like normal, except that his face and body was ugly.....urgh.....
I was thinking of taking photo of his face, but his dad disliked this idea....yeah, perhaps I should not show the ugly face to everyone out there.....

new things....
Today we brought MZ to KL babywearer's gathering at Damansara Perdana. I bought 1 pouch from Jess, but never got the chance to learn more, plus this was the 1st time I attended such event, so, I was very excited!
At the gathering, I managed to try out other wraps, such as the Kozy one, the colorful spot from Rayhana, and the one-piece wrap. I had also learnt how to move MZ from the tummy-to-tummy position to the back position. It's not as difficult as I had thought! I will learn how to carry him on my back from now on, cuz it's more comfy for both of us, and he's getting heavier for kangaroo position......
Also, I plan to get the wrap soon. It's easier and anyone can carry MZ with that piece of cloth! Unlike my pouch, only fits my XS size......
Oh yes, Ch's friend gave us a walker as a gift long time ago; and only today we tried it out for MZ. Well, it's his 1st time, he seemed like not used to it yet. I know walker doesn't do much good for babies nowadays, as it's not that safe and the babies will not learn how to crawl if they are exposed to walker too early or too often. For me, it helps when I need to do house chores, cuz I know MZ is safe sitting there. Also, he can stand by holing something and walk few steps slowly, so, I guess walker is needed now....
MZ had a little fever at nite (38.9C); however, after we fed him paracetamol, the temperature went down to 37.6 within an hour. After 1.5 hrs, it was only 37C, phew....we knew he's a strong boy! To get fever during teething time is normal....
Hopefully MZ will not be having much problems while teething......

poor baby....
I brought MZ to Nite Market last nite, with his grandparents. First time going there, on his 8-month-old birthday; unfortunately, his dad was working outstation.... :(
MZ seemed to enjoy the walk and busy looking at all the things and people there. Suddenly, I felt his head was leaning towards my hand, I looked at him properly (as I was using Kangaroo style in the sling) and found that he was sleeping! Oh no, he felt asleep! He must be very tired then, but he never even shout, scream, move around, or try to get out from the sling. He was such an adorable boy! That was why I didn't notice that he had fallen asleep....oh.... my poor son....
We quickly walked back and he only woke up when we reached home. Once we reached home, I knew he must be hungry, cuz it's already 2 hours after his dinner. He finished all the milk and went to sleep soundly.......
I felt so bad and told myself that I will not let him sleep like this anymore....
No sign of his 2nd tooth yet....

MZ’s 1st tooth came out today! Just found out this morning after I fed him breakfast! He cried a little bit and his mouth was wide opened. What was the white thing there? His tooth!!!! My gosh! So happy for him and so proud of him! He has never given us any trouble so far. He will be 8-month-old next Thursday, which is aug 14. Hm…finally my boy is having his 1st tooth to bite now, yeh!
Too bad his dad just went to Penang this morning and couldn’t see by himself. Well, he’ll see it tomorrow. I was trying hard to take a picture of his tooth, but he won’t open his mouth when I shot him. Hopefully can get it tomorrow!

Ch went to Penang yesterday and will only be back tonite, so left MZ and me at home. I was trying so hard to shoot his tooth, but he seemed to know that and didn’t open his mouth when he was crying…ya, I could only take the photo of his tooth when he cries, as it’s the only time his mouth will be wide open!

I find that MZ knows how to demand people. He will scream in order to get what he wants! Guess that’s his best weapon now, ha!
Also, he knows how to play with people too. If we kiss him on the cheek, he laughs and will then turn to the other side, then turn back for another kiss! He will keep doing this few times for satisfaction.
I haven’t seen his 2nd tooth yet, will keep an eye tomorrow….

MZ was trying to let go both of his hands today! He managed to stand for about 2 seconds, and then slowly sit down. Yes, slowly, he won’t just fell and sit on the floor, but cautiously and elegantly!
Ch and I love him more and more as days go by. He has never given us any trouble (touch wood) so far. The best thing about him is, if we take something away from his hand, he will never cry or make a fuss, but will look for other thing to play with! Is he being kind-hearted, or just doesn’t care much?
I let him try mashed papaya today and he didn’t like it. I should say he didn’t like it at all, because this is the 3rd day I tried (not consecutively, hoping that he will like it), but he refused to open his mouth after he knew it was papaya. Well, what can I say? There are many other fruits, like…banana! Yes, next will be banana! May be his 1st tooth will like it, ha ha!

Ch went to Miri this morning and will be back tomorrow. I had just realized that we must take a photo of MZ as he turns 8-months old today! Unfortunately, his dad took the camera with him…. Well, mom then called and asked me to go to Pasar Malam together. When we went to mom’s place, I quickly ask KS to take a photo of MZ, YEH!!!!
However, he didn't look good on none of the pictures, he must be very sleepy then, couldn't smile at all.....and of course, they haven't seen his tooth yet....
